Below are updates to the Law Library's services for the Spring 2021 semester.

The Law Library is built on a tradition of service to our scholars, be they teaching faculty, clinicians, students, fellows, alumni, or other constituencies. Spring Semester Law Library Hours
The dates and hours the Law Library is open during the Spring 2021 semester are posted on the Hours page.
Law Library Access
During the Spring 2021 semester, access to the Law Library is restricted to current members of the Law School community. Please see the health and safety measures required of community members who plan to be on campus.
Borrowing Law Library Print Materials
Access to the majority of the NYU Law Library stacks is closed. At the current time, NYU Law students may access physical Law Library materials by online request and in-person pick-up:
- When viewing a book or other print item in Law Library's catalog, click on the "Place Hold" icon to submit requests. If the "Place Hold" option is unavailable, please email your request to email@example.com. In either case, you will be notified by email when your book is ready for pickup at the Circulation Desk.
- Please note that delivery can take between 2 to 4 business days, due to staff shortages and time needed to quarantine print material between patrons. So please plan accordingly. Questions or issues, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Please also be aware that the NYU Libraries have a deep collection of ebooks, many of which can be accessed by using Law Library's catalog and Bobst Library's catalog. Please also refer to our , which includes detailed instructions on finding.
Returning Law Library Print Materials
Thử kết hợp xổ sốPlease return Law Library books by dropping them into the bin immediately inside the Law Library’s Vanderbilt Hall entrance. Books will be quarantined for three days before being checked in, and any fines accrued during that time will be cancelled.
The Law Library unfortunately does not offer electronic access to most casebooks or textbooks. Casebooks that the Library owns in print are available for on-site use.
Virtual Reference Assistance
Our reference librarians are committed to helping NYU Law students with their reference needs despite us all not being on campus together. NYU Law students should submit reference inquiries to LawLibRef@mercury.law.nyu.edu. Our virtual reference hours are Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm). If you are looking for a secondary resource or primary law, please outline in your email where you have searched for the item, such as and catalogs and various databases.
Online Articles & Book Chapters
Thử kết hợp xổ sốArticles in law reviews and other periodicals are best located online by searching NYU Law Library's catalog using the "Find Journals & Articles" function and by searching Bobst Library's catalog. Please also refer to our research guide. E-books can be located with those catalogs, as well as directly through E-book collections. For more information, please consult our .
Through our SCAN4ME service, NYU Law Students may place requests for scans of book chapters and articles that are only owned in print in the NYU Law Library--i.e., no online copy is available. Our policies exclude the scanning of casebooks, textbooks and study aids. Learn more or place a request. Because of substantial staffing limitations, please only a place a scan4me request if you are unable to come to the Law Library to access the print material.
Borrowing Bobst Library Print Materials
Law students should place requests for print books in Bobst Library via the catalog. The on the Bobst Library website details the available delivery options for Library material not owned electronically.
The Law Library's Interlibrary Loan Department is processing article and book chapter requests not owned by NYU Law Library or Bobst Library (in print or electronic form). See our FAQs on ILL.
